Classes

BALLET: A wide variety of ballet techniques will be taught
incorporating classical movements.
This dance form places great emphasis on body placement
and posture to strengthen each dancer.
Music will include classical to modern to allow for a number
of dance interpretations.


POINTE: Classical ballet technique is used to teach these
students the control of going up on pointe in this graceful
dance discipline.







 
JAZZ: Using contemporary music jazz incorporates ballet
technique in its high-energy moves, ensuring body placement
and posture.
Students start gaining flexibility as they perfect leaps
and pirouettes

LYRICAL: Students will learn to interpret the mood, feeling and
lyrics of the music while incorporating ballet technique.
Control, balance and flexibility are an integral part of lyrical dance.



TAP: Defined body placement and posture are a very important
part of tap ensuring proper sounds.
The music of Glenn Miller to ZZ Top makes tap a fun and
enjoyable dance discipline.





 
ACRO: Jazz technique combined with controlled gymnastic
moves such as summersaults, handstands, walkovers
and limbers make acro a specialized dance discipline.
Many different types of music from Cirque du Soleil to
Michael Jackson are used to interpret this technique.



MUSICAL THEATRE: Interpreting Broadway style themes
or shows. Any form of dance discipline may be used while the students portray characters and lip-synch the song.



HIP HOP: This is the melding together of jazz technique
and street style to create a new dance form.
The stylized movements are done to the latest R&B,
pop and rap music on today’s charts.



MODERN: Many different elements of ballet technique
are incorporated into modern dance.
The focus is on control and balance in a contemporary style.
